Kamermuziek Concours Jong Gelre is for every young musician up to 19 years of age, whether they are already studying at a conservatory, are considering doing so, or already know they will never do so, but can make beautiful music.
They will present themselves as a duo, trio or any other ensemble of any size, but always without a conductor. To be clear, the soloist is excluded. The repertoire is classical music, from ancient to contemporary.
Kamermuziek Concours Gelre is a national competition with its seat in Nijmegen. Its partner is Concertgebouw De Vereeniging in Nijmegen. It has close ties with the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam. New in 2023 is the launch of Chamber Music Competition Jong Gelre for young people up to 19 years old. They will have their own final separate from the competition for older people up to 27 years old.
A professional jury will select six ensembles from the video entries. These will play in the final on Sunday 9 July in the Auditorium of Akoesticum in Ede in front of an audience. The jury listens and gives feedback. Prizes are masterclasses.
