Gelre, the Chamber Music Competition of the Netherlands

Kamermuziek Concours Gelre is a nationwide competition for musicians up to 27 years old. They present themselves as a duo, trio or other ensemble. In the preliminary round, 10 ensembles are selected. In the semi-final, the 5 final ensembles are chosen. The preliminary round and semi-final are on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July respectively in Akoesticum in Ede; the semi-final with audience. The final is on Sunday 24 September in Concertgebouw De Vereeniging in Nijmegen. The professional jury from the international chamber music world listens and gives constructive criticism. Prizes include master classes and concerts: including the Podium Prize, a lunch concert at De Vereeniging, and the Festival Prize, a concert at the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam.
