When you play chamber music, it’s as if the composer is standing right beside you. Not intended for a large hall or a huge audience, the effect of chamber music is very direct and intimate. And that also applies to the connection between fellow musicians and the audience. In my role as a violin teacher, I have discovered how important it is for the development of young musicians to experience this. That is why it is so wonderful that Kamermuziek Concours Gelre exists, encouraging young musicians to devote themselves to this beautiful genre!
