Natasja Douma

I have been working as a coach-pianist at the Royal Conservatoire for almost thirty years. In my day-to-day work, I coach young musicians, including clarinettists, cellists, violinists and violists. Working with talented students and fellow musicians continues to inspire me every day. For me, chamber music is one of the most beautiful forms of music-making there is. The shared search for colour, expression and musical expressiveness remains something special. It is precisely in ensemble playing that a unique energy and connection between the musicians arises. Inspiring one another on stage and bringing a piece of music to life together is, for me, the most beautiful aspect of my profession.
