Practical info about KCG
Kamermuziek Concours Gelre is a brand new national competition that gives your ensemble the opportunity to present itself. A professional jury, consisting of top class ensemble players, listens and gives constructive criticism. As a finalist in De Vereeniging in Nijmegen, your ensemble will have a chance to win masterclasses from the jury members.
When and where is it?
Saturday 18 September – Preliminary round – Akoesticum (Ede)
Sunday 19 September – Final round – De Vereeniging (Nijmegen).
Who can participate? – Any duo, trio or bigger ensemble, but always without a conductor. To be clear, the soloist is excluded. The repertoire is classical music, from Early Music to contemporary. There are two categories: musicians who follow a (pre-)training at a conservatory, and musicians who are not professionally trained. Both categories are divided into two age groups: from 12 to 19 years, and from 20 to 25 years. Read the regulations for participation (Dutch only) for the specifics!
Who is in the Jury? – The jury consists of flautist Eleonore Pameijer, pianist Bart van de Roer and cellist Quirine Viersen. They will listen to your ensemble with care and attention and give constructive criticism.
What are the prizes? – Prizes come in the form of master classes. The masterclasses are given by the jury members.
