Practical info about KCG
Kamermuziek Concours Gelre is a national concourse that gives your ensemble the opportunity to present itself. A professional jury, consisting of top class ensemble players, listens and gives constructive criticism. As a finalist in De Vereeniging in Nijmegen, your ensemble will have a chance to win masterclasses.
When and where is it?
Saturday 9 July 2022 – Preliminary round – Akoesticum (Ede)
Sunday 10 July 2022 – Semi-final – Akoesticum (Ede)
Sunday 25 September 2022 – Final round – De Vereeniging (Nijmegen)
Who can participate?
KCG is for every young musician, both those who are considering going to a conservatory and those who are already studying at a conservatory. The only division is in two age categories: from 12 to 19 years and from 20 to 25 years. Any duo, trio or bigger ensemble may present itself, but always without a conductor. To be clear, the soloist is excluded. The repertoire is classical music, from early music to contemporary. Read the regulations for participation (Dutch only) for the specifics!
Who is in the jury?
The jury will be announced soon, but they will listen to your ensemble with care and attention and give constructive criticism.
What are the prizes?
Prizes come in the form of master classes. The masterclasses are tailor-made. KCG believes that it is good for every ensemble to find masterclass teachers who can give them what they need at that specific time, based on the status of their development.
